Default HELP PLEASE!! anti-pollution fault and little power

Hi all, my week just keeps getting better and better!!

Lost most of last week with van off the road after DMF and clutch replacement. had a hell of a time getting the old flywheel off.

Finally got the van going again and last night when driving up a hill there was a loud bang followed by lots of black smoke and van started to jerk quite a bit.
pulled in to side of road and stopped. Checked oil and water and all seemed ok. Got back in and started van and now engine management light is on and flashing "anti-pollution fault" and power has dropped away.

Reading a bit about the particle filters on the forum, but has anyone had this same experience and what was the outcome?

Van starts ok but seems to be in "limp mode" and will not go over about 40mph.

Any help appreciated
