Default Heating symbol and lights

Hi,

New to the forum. I'm hoping to get some information!

I have a Partner from 1999 1.8 petrol left and drive. This is the Netherlands.

Q1... The left hand knob for the heating has a symbol I don't recognise. I'm posting a picture of it. Can anyone tell me what it means please?

Q2... Which knobs on that panel are supposed to be lit up please?

TIA
Mike

Looks suspiciously like the fan speed control.

Yes it does doesn't it... You can see it goes clockwise from 0 to 4... But... my question is... what happens if you turn it anticlockwise from 0? What does the symbol mean? A recirculation symbol is with a horizontal U shaped arrow *inside* a car. This has a sweeping arrow outside the bonnet of the car.

Dunno... that's what I'm asking.... oh and the lights behind the dials.

I have the user manual and it says nothing about it. Looked on the web for info as well... for a good couple of hours.... I'm stubborn :-) ... and can't even find that symbol anywhere!

Here is the answer to the strange symbol

Generally you would expect them all to be backlit when the side or headlights are switched on.
