Default diesel preheater

hi guys,

i have just bought a partner 625 se hdi 75 on a 61 plate.

when i turn the key to position 1, no diesel preheater light comes on, i just assumed every diesel van has one of these that comes on, if only for a second, before you start the van, or am i wrong?

does it only illuminate when its below a certain temperature? or does it not have one at all? or is it some underlying problem or as simple as a fuse change?

thanks for any help
