Default Cutting Out problem Partner 2.0 HDI diesel

About 30 minutes driving and the van cut out. It would start but cut out after a couple of seconds or a few minutes.
Garage ran their diagnostics and decided it was the crankshaft sensor, but replacing that didn't fix it. They now want to replace various things starting with the fuel regulator but I am understandably reluctant to have lots of things replaced until they hit on the fault.

Any suggestions?

Am in Tredegar, South Wales and Peugeot main dealer is about 9 miles away. nearest Peugeot Planet person in Swansea, about 40 miles away.

Peugeot will charge anywhere between 40 and 80+VAT for a diagnostic.

Fuel pressure too high seems to be the diagnosis, would this fit with the symptons?

Where would be the best place to get a fuel pressure regulator? Main dealer or motor factor. I notice some on ebay, any thoughts?

thanks
