Default Really annoying ad

Just my opinion and should not be viewed as a criticism of this excellent resource.

While i understand the need for displaying ads on the site, the one that tells me that I'm the 100,000th visitor and I can claim a prize is really annoying. You know the one I mean - the animated gif / swf with the bouncing image of a message box which takes you to what is supposed to be a survey then asks you for your mobile number which then tricks you into signing up to something expensive through you phone bill.

Would be real nice to see that one get vetted out. All the others are pretty unobtrusive and some are even informative.

For chrome or FF use adblocker.

Here's a screenshot. The 'messagebox' image is animated and bounces.

The image is an animated gif with the following url - http://cdn.adnxs.com/p/db/56/ff/10/d...2e0dc6ec55.gif

I personally don't like firefox, it's way too slow, even on my core i7 with 16 gb ram. Also not impressed with chrome tho some browsers built using the chrome engine aren't bad.

Even though a lot of people will disagree, i think internet explorer is hard to beat.

Not bothered by most ads. This one is particularly annoying plus some people may unknowingly subscribe to something they neither want or need by clicking on it.

Agreed, nothing wrong with the latest version of IE. The lack of extensions (like Adblock) is a real deal breaker though.
