Default New Members, contacting Senior Restrictions

New Members, contacting Senior Member Restrictions

If a new member must have 20 posts to contact a Senior member by private message.....what's to stop the new member from going to 20 threads in 20 minutes and posting "Wow"....."Amazing"....."Pwoooar"....?????

I won't, and I haven't, but the restriction seems a bit biased. If a senior member did receive too many PM's, can't they just block that member from contacting them?....Or have them warned by the mods?

Seems a better tactic then clogging up the forum (and cyberspace) with useless clutter.

Pwoooar, that's amazing, wow !

Thanks.

Think this is relatively sensible, looking through the forums, the majority of 'members' here post maybe 1-5 times with a question, and appear to never return or contribute more.
Hopefully people will look through the threads, or use the search function to find a problem similar to their own before posting. If people simply PM'd a senior member with a question, they would inundated with mail (which many would not be able to answer).
There is a thread to enable people to 'spam' to get their number up.

Whilst you are here, please put your vehicle details in your signature to help people answer any questions (click user cp along the top, then edit signature down the left).

It is not a question I seek, but an answer I offer.....not all juniors, are "new" to life, to Peugeots......we're only new 'here'.

Thank you.

the spam page is there to 'prove' your not just a spambot/spammer. we've had a few before so feel free to clog that page. also i have had 'visitor messages' from members without the 20 post's so theres ways around it if you really need to find out urgently

Like I said......"I have an answer to their question"...and not the other way around....... and.... "I don't want to clog that space".

But this seems to be the way to get my 20 posts !

No good deed goes unpunished.

Enough said, close the thread.

No reply needed.

Default Senior members sending pm's to new members

Today I had a PM from a senior member, and under the presumtion that "since they pm'd me first, I'd be able to respond" so I tried sending them an email.. But no....it maintains that I must still make 20 posts to reply...so I did, I resorted to the dreaded fake posts "Oooh, ahh, brillaint wow", and the pre-requiste five symbols dot dot dot dot dot-------" . . . . . "

(that's five dots, not profanity).

Not all new members are trolls, nor are they newbies to life, cars, mechanics, internet forums, etc.

Like I said once before. "I may be new here, but I am not NEW"

Back to the drawing board !

I'm guessing HOBO objects to having to prove he's human.........................not an issue now tho with 24 posts
I rarely send/recieve PM's so dont see the problem myself especially as a new member can send a visitor message if the wanted to instead
