Default MAF Sensor

Hi there I've got a 407 Executive (2004), 2.0 HDI 136 bhp and I'm sure the MAF sensor is no good. When it is connected to the car it judders a lot, gets diesel knock and can just stop. Since I have removed the connector it drives like a dream, no juddering at all. I have a "Continental" sensor fitted and my question is can I use a "Siemens" one in it's place. Thanks

These come in different sizes and uses, so best to give your reg number to a local motor factors they will give you a price for the right one, either Siemens or a budget one.

My Siemens one was about 100 3 years ago and is still going strong - and a friend with a 406 coupe bought a cheaper one from Europarts, 45 ish, and he has no problems either...

Avoid the eBay ones - they can be a bit hit or miss for quality....

Thanks for the advise and the tip about E-bay, I was going to search it for a replacement.
Once again, Thank you.
