Default Hmm One for the Site Admins

is anyone else suffering from page redirects to this page

DO NOT click it though as it is or appears to be Malicious

Java update

I get this on the first page of the forum

My ISP has obviously blocked it appears to be somewhere in Texas or similar

If you google it a lot of people are reporting it on the Web at the moment

It is making using the forum a nightmare for me And I have Antivirus and pop up blockers and Malwarebytes installed and the system appears clean It has taken me ages to get past the first screen onto this new posting screen

I can use IE ok but the screen text size is not ideal is this just a Firefox issue ?

Had this pop up on a thread other day. I thought maybe the way someone had linked a picture had caused it. Using chrome myself. I just clicked the page shut and hasn't come back since.

What's causing it? I can only think it's an ad

there appears to be a problem with I think some of the Ads on this Site As Virgin Media are blocking something they think is dodgy

I have their websafe & childsafe settings Activated Within My account (I checked) I will phone them tomorrow and ask why its blocked though as its quite Annoying

It may well be that the address was blacklisted at one time I do not get anything beyond that page though and the IPtrace comes back as something like Limehouse in America

Showed up on one of banners earlier, pc checks out clean so must be a dodgy ad.

It's prompted to me to install a blocker (specifically, it blocks cross-domain requests). Anyway, it turns out that this site runs so much crap that the blocker has dramatically increased the speed, responsiveness, and usability of the site.

Conclusion: I hope all the adware is profitable for you admins because it's a royal pain in the arse for the rest of us.

Profits? As i recall no member pays for access to this site? The ads will pay for the site to exist, i very much doubt it makes profit!

The java thing is annoying yes but just close it and move on,

I tried the closing it but it just refreshed and came back the Site was unuseable without stopping it I could now probably tell you what was causing it by looking at what is within the Adblock logs though

captify media
Amazon ???
ads/www/*

those are the 3 most recurring within this Site

Amazon is an obvious one, every time I log on I get an Amazon banner ad showing things I've recently looked at. Not come across the Java Update and all I run on my PC is Microsoft Security Essentials and the full version of Malwarebytes. No real speed issues using BT Infinity 2.

I wouldn't ever use Virgin Media again. Back when 40mbs was the fastest speed I was paying £46 a month just for the broadband and was being permanently throttled to 5mbs by them. I could get faster on ADSL on old copper wires at the furthest distance from the exchange for £9 a month.
