Question Forum constant lockouts and IE9 crash

Hi Mods.

Been using IE9 for a long time and no issues on the site until Wednesday right through to now. I would get constant timeouts and scroll bar locks and page crashes.

I've had to switch to Firefox to use the forum but all other websites work in IE9. This is a bit of a pain in the ar**!

Any change of a look to see if there is a page problem in supporting IE9?

Cheers

PB

Can you guys provide screenshots of what you're seeing in IE9 when this happens?

I dont know if a windows update has gone out, but my ie9 is freezing on numerous sites this last week

orange.co.uk for example, takes about a minute before the site is usable!

Did a bit of digging on this and it seems an update has gone out

KB2699988 - cumulative security update for internet explorer 9

It was a critical patch released 12th june, uninstalling this has stopped the issues, hopefully microsoft will re-release this but for the time being i'll do without!

Bit of a bugger most of the machines i manage have now got it and i cant centrally remove it though

edit: looks like i'm not the only one! http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...f-39529769b8ca

Nice one Stubbo.

I'll have removed and all should be good again. Firefox is ok but not my cup of tea,

Hope it cures your issue like it did mine

I'll add a little disclaimer here as well...

KB2699988 is a critical patch for IE to prevent remote attackers executing code on your machine, remove at your own risk!

I wouldnt really say anyone is in immidiate danger without it though
