hi folks i am new to this forum, i have an old 406 and is due to be changed. I am thinking of buying a 407 sw but not sure because of the additive and particulate filter required. Does all 407's come with these, i am after a diesel but i am being put off because of the cost of topping up additive and changing filter. can anyone advise me.

Hi eddie
Topping up tank every 90k or so is no big deal as it will cost the same as a tank of fuel. You wont need to change filter as long as you dont block filter by doing to many short runs and ignoring any warnings that come up,you will know when the car is trying to regen as it will be a bit sluggish and the car will sound different and if your close to stopping at this point just take her out the road for a spin and it will fully regen but most times you wont have a problem

you will be hard pushed to find a car nowadays of recent make that wont have the additive and filter. although from what i hear manufacturers are going more towards maintenance free and additive free.
