Question 407SW Power steering fluid

Have just visited my dealer here in France to find that the above fluid has turned to jelly? I have never come across this before and have always had the car serviced with Peugeot dealers. I purchased the car in 2006 when it was one year old and have been with my dealer here for 3 years plus. Is it possible that this is because the fluid has never been changed on servicing? It will cost me several hundred euros to put right and if the pump has been damaged, well over a 1,000.00. The car is always garaged and although we have some cold weather at the moment it is not severe. Does anyone know the likely cause of the problem and if I have any redress. Mike C. Vinca, France.

found this online
"I have seen this happen a few times. It is Usually cause by some one putting Power Steering fluid in the brake master. Most the time lady's. Both fluids are clear so they think they are interchangable ...but they are not and Power Steering fluid Gel's Brake fluid. We had one so bad we had to replace every thing and make new lines"

maybe happened the other way on yours and someone has put brake fluid in it.
