Permanent or temporary?

If the latter download the XP compatibility pack or Virtual PC.

The main thing to check is that there are drivers for your Netbook before making any permanent change.

The best way would be to get an external cdrom, format the HDD, then install XP from scratch. Do you have XP on CD? I can get you one if you need it.
You could also do it with a bootable USB, but it can be troublesome!
I also use a USB to SATA device
Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex USB 2.0 Cable: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex USB 2.0 Cable: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
to connect any regular Sata CDrom to USB, cheap enough from ebay or anywhere, good to have around also, can connect any hdd as an external one.
