Does the stag V8 not suffer with really bad cooling problems?

Wink

Have just watched the prog NO. Just badly put together, poorly maintained and ver misunderstood. Was never ble correctly from factory and suffered ever since, (Thank god for the rear heated screen, kept your hands warm when pushing it)

Original engines used to blow head gaskets if I remember correctly, changed the pistons and wet liners back in the late seventies on an early Stag.

They did; nothing to do with the design i might add, just bl bean counters not giving Triumph a proper budget. My Dad has a Stag as does a colleague and I can go boring for Britain about them. Both cars are daily drivers too, no other 1976 car in daily use is totally original? Both have had all the cooling issues sorted by having upgraded radiators fitted and twin electric fans and I know ours has done 40,000 miles with us and never put a foot wrong.

There's a lot of negative attitude towards them, but the noise is to die for and they are very nice cars to own.
