Default Speed

Hi have a peugeot 206 and speedo is not working. The the rev counter is working. I have been told I need a new clock or sensor has gone. Just need to know if anyone else has or know what is happening and how to fix

I would say start with ruling out speedo sensor...have you had anything done to front end of your car recently.

No it wasn't working when I bought it. I was told it's easy fix

A quick google search for Peugeot 206 speed sensor shows the sensor is likely to be on the gearbox but in different places depending on the gearbox used.

A replacement sensor is likely to be cheaper and easier to replace than the speedo clock but it is likely that the clock can be exercised using the diagnostic equipment. If the needle moves when exercising the dash then it's probably OK.

Many members have the dealer level diagnostics and there may be a member close to you who can try and test it out for you.
