Default RPO - What is it?

Looking at parts list on servicebox, many parts have different numbers depending on the RPO. What is the RPO and how do you know What a car's RPO is ?

RPO is the number given to the days production run in which the vehicle is made. Started November 9th 1976. Parts used during the life of a model in production change depending on various things such as supply problems. The RP number is normally located on the door jam, strut or door edge on a sticker that normally also shows things like recommend tyre pressure and paint codes.
Enter you RP number here: http://www.eurocarcare.net/orga.html and it will tell you the day your vehicle was made and whether it is a 'Friday car'
