Default Parking fine v.s. parking reminder? (advise wanted)

Guys,

I got a ticket for overtime parking last week and this is not the first time! Sometimes simply because I forget to get back and remove my car in good time. My friend suggests parking reminder, e.g. can download an APP into mobilephone. I tried one, but I also have to remember to set an alarm after parking.... but my problem is remembering!

Have you tried such reminder? or do you have better way/idea?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

br, Simonsen

Put a countdown on your phone - even basic phones have countdown timers

Don't forget to allow time to get back to your car.....

Getting a fine would be reminder enough for me! I've been extremely lucky so far though!
I'd go with Ginger magic's idea above. It's what I do if it's over an hour. I also sometimes set the elapsed time bezel on my wristwatch to the hour hand as a rough guide, but that assumes that:
You wear a watch.
It has an ET bezel.
Anything at all is going to actually need you to set it though.

Remember to set the countdown itself is also an issue, or sometimes feel too rush or arkward to do it...

yes, that's what i've done. I found some Apps work quite well, such as parkmobile, simplypark, etc. Just google, more and more Apps in parking area!

Are the fines from the council or some private company - if it's the latter they're usually pretty easy to wriggle out of...
