Definitely no sense at all.
The report says the delighted owner was seen celebrating with a bottle of champagne as the car was being delivered.

Having enough money to buy a car like that doesn't automatically give the person the necessary driving skills to actually drive the thing. While not trying to convince people that he is a good driver but Richard Hammond who has had his fair share of driving powerfull cars once had the opportunity to drive an F1 car on a track and it took more than a few attempts to get it moving without stalling the engine and when he did finally get moving he couldn't get it round the first bend.

Personally I feel very happy for the proud owner - at least he didn't wait till he was out in traffic and take some other innocent motorist out with him.
