Default Lost visibility

I was driving from Portsmouth earlier towards Eastleigh airport when I could see what looked like thick fog ahead , as I approached I could see a Transit pulled in on the other side with smoke pouring from the exhaust and starting to come from the bonnet.
Both sides had almost stopped due to lack of visibility, It smelt like oil so I guess it was self fueling from the oil and about top go bang from the noise it was making !

I saw virtually the same thing on the M55 this morning. Approching Blackpool and on the hard shoulder on the other side of the motorway I thought something was on fire. As I was passing I could see lots of smoke from the exhaust coming out as though the driver had his foot to the floor. Figured the engine would meltdown before too long.
