Default Income tax - 2013/2014

I've been looking at the income tax threshold changes coming in next month.

Personal allowance going up, 40% tax threshold coming down.

I've worked out that after all tax is paid, I am in effect working one day to pay for the welfare state.

I'm not doing that - I've applied for a 4 day working week - to bring my wage down to a level where I'm not busting a gut for some lazy, unemployed lout to buy a plasma tv.

I would suggest national service - but we're cutting back here as well.

Fortunately I have a job, therefore don't have time to sit on my arse watching crap daytime tv with the rest of the spongers.
And if I didn't, I could certainly think of better things to do than watch Jeremy 'arsehole' Kyle.

Reading that back, it sounds a bit arsey...it wasn't meant to be.

Jeremy Kyle show - just look at the awful people who are 'guests' on that. No work, tattoos, don't know how to use a condom. They probably shop in ASDA as well.

Well I actually donate a whole weeks wages a month to the sponger state you so greatly describe.

I do not begrudge paying national insurance as I have had an operation costing my lifetimes contributions if done privately, but the tax is a joke.

A week of voluntary service for some lazy git to sit at home and play the xbox all day is not my idea of why I supposedly "earn a living".

This is what i tell people when they ask me what i would do -

If you are on benefits you should be given a Card like a credit card , with that you can pay your bills and shop with it ,
you can not buy cigarettes with it or booze ,

if that sounds like a fascist state then get off benefits and get a job , if no jobs out there then make one , cut grass , clean windows etc (only to people that have cash not a card )

90% of my Taxi runs are getting people takeaways and booze , if they can afford that then the benefit is too much .
chopper1192 and coddy like this.
