Yes it was meant as a piss take but they just lost me as a viewer tonight.

I foolishly expected a semblance of reality in their Peugeot special but honestly couldn't believe they thought that was entertaining. The show was ok up to that point and then turned into total rubbish.

They're right, pretty boring cars, but they do a job, the 505gti looked good, but I wouldn't go out and buy a peugeot because the modern ones are ALL wrong wheel drive.

If the insurance for a peugeot wasn't half the price of everything else I probably wouldn't have one. They are learner cars first and foremost, they need to start making some more interesting cars!!!

Having said that, my 206 handles great, is pretty nippy and sounds like a lion when you give it the beans!

Just to let you know, they take the piss out of EVERY type of car owner, people love something to moan about, makes good television! The bit they did about the caravanning was the funniest!

They even take the piss out of middle aged men driving around in super cars, i.e THEM!

It's a light entertainment show - nobody takes it seriously - I do like the 'some country' specials.

Did you see the adverts on US tv for Top Gear - I couldn't stop laughing.

Now, Wheeler Dealers - that's a proper car show.

I thought it was ok, showed just how much abuse peugeots can take and keep driving.

Wonder how they got the 307cc to start and drive with the fire damage, did anyone notice the heater display wasn't working at all and how did he manage to drive with the roof half open??

The thing that bothers me about Top Gear are the lies to make things funny.

Take the other week in Australia, Clarkson apparently couldn't fish and was flailing his rod and line around in a comedy style. But a couple of years ago on a 3 car test in the Isle of Man he could fish perfectly well.

Its the same with cars. Clarkson has categorically stated in the past that he's a fan of MGs and the Pug 205 and 306, yet at another time he's slating them and the build quality.
