Unhappy Esp unit

Hi
I have a 56 plate 407 SW 135 BHP
can someone please please please tell me where I can find the small ESP unit in the car .
I have got a new one but cant find the little begger anywhere .
Have bought a Haynes manual and still no joy .
Think my one has packed up as ABS ESP light has been on for just under a year ,
Don't think it is the sensors on the wheels as this light comes on as soon as I start the engine without moving .
am going to try and change this part first before changing all the sensors on the wheels .
can someone please help as it is driving me mad for the past 10 months

Thanks in advance

Mark

I think on most Peugeots they are behind handbrake lever bolted to floor under centre console

I'll check on Service Box - hold on....

Service Box shows it under the handbrake area, different types for different years but in the same place.

It it does't cure it then it would be wise getting a diagnostic to help pinpoint the error or you could end up throwing parts at it until eventually you stumble on the faulty part

I believe the fault showing before you move the car will point to a sensor issue, as the ESP won't detect a fault with the reluctor rings until you are moving...

A diagnostic will point to whichever wheel/sensor is causing the issue - or simply tell you to recalibrate the steering sensor etc...

Thank you for all your help

will be ripping out the carpet at the weekend to find this .
the car failed the mot due to the light being on but has advised me that the front wheel bearing needs replacing so this might be the problem .
am having a go at this at the weekend doing both sides wish me luck

I would definitely suspect a rear wheel sensor problem. Recommend getting a diagnostic reading (as mentioned on previous posts) before ripping out the carpet and fitting a part that may not be the cause.
