Question engine wont turn over

Hi I am new to this site so my apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place, I Have a 2004 Peugeot 206 cc 1.6 16v, when I fitted the replacement cd player I could not find an ignition live so I dropped down the fuse box took out each fuse one by one to check them after I did this the windows and roof stopped working, so I removed the fuse box after disconnecting the battery to check behind for a loose or disconnected plug, so took it indoors replaced all the fuses with new ones took it back out to the car and refitted it, but now when you turn the key to start the car nothing happens apart from a clicking sound from the fuse box ( windows and roof still don't work either ) any ideas please? i am getting desperate it been off the road for 3 days now Many Thanks in advance.

Thanks for getting back and reporting the resolution. The gearbox earth is responsible for many weird electrical problems but this is the first time I've read anything regarding the problems you encountered. It could help someone else in the future.
