Question Does anyone remember?

I grew up in the late 70s, does anyone remember those grainy old TV ads about not mixing Radial and Cross-Ply tyres? Do we still even have those anymore? Don't know why but it just popped into my head

Yep, I remember those ads.

All are radial now. I believe you can only get cross ply from specialist classic tyre companies.

I've only had my 206 for two months and that had four completely different makes of tyre on it, all budget brand. I guess having just replaced them with a nice set of Avon's, the ad jumped into my mind.

P.S. My better half insists the final bit of the film is how I park the car

I had radials for years then I needed a car quickly and a friend had a Wolseley 1500 for sale. It was cheap so I purchased it. It had cross plies on it. I swear never again.

I remember cross plies. Like driving on butter.
