Default courtesy lights door

Just curious what is the little door on the interior courtesy lights I know silly question to most but just always bugged me small door on the trim

My Dad's C4 GP has something similar on it's courtesy lights. I think in that instance they are for installing a luggage net or something.

Unsure about luggage net or rack but hangar hook on the handles already
