Default Conveyancers ANGRY !!!

Why are conveyancers so intent on making life so b****Y stressful. We're supposed to be completing on 1st September and we're just about to go into a BH weekend. We've not even exchanged. Our conveyancers are blaming the hold up on the buyers conveyancers.

We've spoken to the buyer and actually have a good relationship with them they are as equally frustrated and their conveyancers are saying they've been in touch with ours and are waiting for replies.!!!!

There's 2 issues crossover permission for the drive way which has been there since 1991 and the council only hold permission records for 10 years so they have no record of it & indemnity for some kitchen work done in 2007 !!

Makes my blood boil
Is there any point in complaining to the regulatory body?

I agree sadly the only way to sort it is to badger them constantly and get the buyer to do the same with theirs they will get fed up and sort you out to get you off their case

We only had one hold up when we moved.

"Your partners name is different on 2 of the forms we have"

Well I'm sure she knows her name, so in other words you've misspelled it on the other form. Well done.

Same thing cropped up when our introductory mortgage rate expired and we moved lenders.

Man from TSB: "The name on the land registry is different to the forms you've filled out"

So even the clots at the land registry had copied her name down incorrectly.

Mutterings of "To change names is a 30 charge" soon went quiet....

Apparently it was probably our solicitors fault, even so, it got sorted rather hastily.

It's not even like it's a difficult name, Emmajane. If it were Emma, with Jane as a middle name there would be a space and a capital J in there....
