Default Am I the only victim?

Now lads no sarcasm or pisstake please.
This problem ONLY occurs when I visit this forum, using MY WIFE`S old ipad.
Here I am going through the various posts when for no apparent reason (not clicking a link) up pops an adult site with naked ladies. Its the full page and I have great difficulty getting rid of it.How can I block it? Its happened before and from what I can tell its not the same site each time.
I have a PC in my office upstairs that I use, with a typical BT home hub,it never happens there?
As I said it only happens on this forum,my wife and I surf the net with the ipad without a problem.
I`m thinking of taking it to a PC shop and have it "cleaned" or what ever.My wife often takes her ipad with her.Can you imagine her face at a local coffee morning, she is showing the ladies her grandchildren, when up pops a porn site!!!
Has any other forums members experienced this? any advice would be appreciated.

there should be an option to do a factory reset, do that then install the apps you want and install an anti virus like avg or something

ipads tablets and phones are easy because you always have the option to do a factory reset

Thanks trustme,
Does that mean the ipad will start a fresh and all the photo albums, itunes and stuff will be deleted?
It won't be a problem as everything is stored in my PC.I have Norton on that and its up for renewal,so I will get one of the multi device offers.

If you do a google for i-pad malware. The issue seems to be when they are connected to a PC.

Quote:
for the malware to spread to an iOS device, users must have mistakenly installed a corrupted program on their Windows-powered PC to help manage their iOS device. Instead of helping a user backup their iPhone, however, the program covertly installs “malicious apps on any iOS device that is connected to the PC,
Watch out for Norton Auto renewal (expensive)

Run something like malwarebytes on your PC (only get the FREE version) before you do anything.

Instead of a factory reset it might be possible to clear all the history and cookies same as you can on a real computer.

I am wary of resetting stuff unless no other options exist as you will loose some things that are not always easy to replace.

I am also cynical of antivirus software as i have never had nor needed it and i believe the viruses are written by or for the antivirus software companies to keep them in business.

This sounds very similar to something I had a couple of months ago, after opening an email I should not have done. The material was less exotic, but the symptoms similar.

I downloaded the free version of malwarebytes and let it do its thing. Problem solved and no after effects.

Thanks guys you have been really helpful.I'm not a computer type, all I know is how to surf the net, edit photos all that sort of simple stuff.Computer language is dutch to me.
Malwarebytes have been downloaded to the ipad and my PC.
One suggestion was a factory reset of the ipad.If I do this will all the itunes, photos etc be deleted ?
