Default Afghanistan

The media are really starting to annoy me on this one.

Today on BBC News channel - endless debate about what Dave meant when he said 'mission accomplished'. Our troops are being withdrawn at the end of next year.

Some monumental TWAT of a reporter asking 'whether it was worth it' -an insult to our troops to ask such a question.

Well - Osama's out of the picture and control is being returned to the Afghan police, military and people. I would say its 'worth it'.

Only God knows how many 9 11's have been prevented.

Syria - we'll be in there next. I heard that some numpty said that the UK should hang its head in shame for not accommodating any refugees - this bloke needs to look at how much financial aid we've given. Another TWAT imho.

hmmm. No insult to the troops was intended, but I would recommend that everyone watch Eisenhower's final address and his talk of the industrial military complex....its an interesting take.

War is a racket that makes money for a few and impoverishes and the many. I come from a family with strong ties to the military....but for me, to understand history or current events find the money or the benefit. We have lost many liberties over the last ten years in the name of security and to quote and to quote Franklin,"Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither. ... People willing to trade their freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both.".....one very smart man and many or our US friends would do well to read many of his writings rather than relying on the spoon fed crap that is normally served up

Also, I read this today....not the best paper around, but not a complete fish wrap either

Inside the Saudi 9/11 coverup | New York Post

If true, they were in the wrong place.....

Anyway, economic decline always leads to increased nationalism and war, so we have more to look forward to.....

I'll get down off my soap box now...but like I said, before deciding whether something is worthwhile, follow the money and the power....

Should've nuked Pakistan for sheltering Bin Laden. It's funny that the one time the Americans decided not to inform them of the forthcoming raid is the one time he's actually there.

Syria's a real can of worms. The rebels are arguably every bit as bad as the government, and a lot of them are supported by that Alan Qaeda feller, so whoever they support they're on to a loser. Stay out of it. I've served and while no one welcomes war. I can at least understand a just one but if being righteous is the goal the need have invaded Zimbabwe decades ago, but a lack of oil and lack of strategic importance in terms of its location means no one fancies a go. I'm cynical, but probably a realist.
