My 1.6HDi seems to be suffering a bit of a glitch with its turbo. 99% of the time its fine but suddenly i lose power and the car goes into safe mode with no turbo but no engine management light. Stop car, turn off then back on and all is fine again though it seems to be doing it more recentley.

There also seems to be a lot of soot on and around the top of the turbo and im wondering if it could be connected?

Turbo is 28k miles old btw.

Soot around the top of the turbo is from the clamp that connects the particle filter to the turbo not being replaced after being removed. Tighten it up the best you can.
Get a diagnostic check done and post the codes up.

Yes it did actually do it on full load up hills.

Afaik all sensors are still connected. Oh and its still regening. My remapper said he might need to find another 407 same year and engine and copy its eprom or something or other in order to completely wipe regens off and ive told him about you and alering a switch at the beginning of the map but to no avail.

look for the two pipes coming out of the FAP , follow the bottom one to the brown sensor and unclip it , a bit tricky with one hand , it doesn`t just pull apart you have to unclip it and pull at same time , look ar the sensor at the top left of your radiator to see what i mean its the DPF sensor .

Right done that and went for a spin and the car has just taken off!!! Its like its suddenly deristricted of anything. Only probably its made it start regenerating and was all the time i was out so i will keep an eye on it.

Alos noticed from the pics that your turbo has the soot on it just like mine

Go back to mapper and tell him its not complete , the 1.6hdi with if i remember is a EDC35 is a pig to do , i know:nod:
i had about six remaps before it was complete (no charge) , unfortunately the mapper is going to have to cough up some ££££ to find out , he`ll have to get in touch with my mapper or another equally good one to find the info he needs, and they all guard their secrets .:thumb:

Yeah the 1.6 seem to have all got soot there , seen one remapped and dpf off last week that had been driven with particle filter blocked for 6 months ,once it was freed up the turbo blew.

Did you try with pp2000 to tell the car it has no Additive system?

Listen everything you are going through , i went through , your problem is your guy buys maps ,my guy writes maps ,
my mapper never came across this problem until he done mine , i have 5000 miles done with no regen , before that i was regening , limp mode every 1000 miles and if you started the car in the morning outside the house the yard turned white with smoke.
The guy who mapped your car is still able to fix this if he buys a map of my guy i would think , but its all to do with encrypted files and money , pity you weren`t closer ,
its easy to buy a map and stick it on , but if it doesn`t work what does he do then?

ps whos your mapper? website?

Hi seb.
Martin the mapper.
Came across this thread on google while looking for a clean ecu for your car to do an eprom swap.
Bettyswollocks can i ask who did your map for you and do you have a galletto or tool to read your ecu.
I have done lots of these engine and ecu flashes and this is the first problem ever had.
The company that does my files is one of only 3 in the country that do mazda's so as to give you an idea of how good they are.
There is other things i am going to try on wednesday that we do with the ford vehicles running this engine type.
All input to this thread is welcome as my goal is to solve sebs problem motor.

Thanks Martin

Yes i am the mapper.
I cant get into the map as i use a slave Kessv2 and K-tag system (not cheap tools). seb is going to bring the car to the garage so i can check the additive ecu on wednesday morning.

Read the thread and spoke to tech dept and there is no DPF files in the software at all.

Is there a pm function on here.

contact@dpfrepair.co.uk

if not please.

Thanks Martin

Thats what we couldn`t understand at the beginning "No DPF files" , but there is something there , unless you want to email Davy Contact | Torquetronix but i`m sure you`re aware , mappers guard their secrets ;)
Thanks .
Nothing there at all, even the indy garage the car went to said nothing there at all.
The regen counter is stored in seperate part of the ecu.

Will e-mail your guy in morning.

Thanks Martin

Cars been with Martin again today and he's followed your instructions BS.

He said that planet was saying saying something along the lines of 'maximum number of aborted regenerations met' and he couldnt wipe this.

Seems to be the end of the road with what he can do with it unless i take the car to Leeds to have the error part wiped but then no more fault codes could be logged so anytime the car had a fault the mechanic wouldnt have a clue where the fault was so im reluctant to do this. The guy he buys maps from said he wouldnt have allowed the car to be done if he knew the faults and errors listed though imo the car was driving fine previously and i only had this done to get of regens and to give it a little extra grunt and mpg.

After my initial assessment of DPF removal i was very impressed but now all id say is make sure that your dpf and its associated software can be removed fully if you plan on having this done or dont bother.

Nor was i. Martin has been fantastic throughout and the problem stems from my car as you well know BS and ive had a remap, its been into a peugeot indey for updates and has had warning messages for regsn and Eolys removed and he's worked on it now for probably eight hours trying to sort it and all in the initial price i paid. Im partially happy but have learnt that DPF removal is not as easy or as wonderful as it always makes out.

What I don't get here is why was remap/dpf off done with the car having faults?
All the mappers I've spoke to said that first they would scan for faults and if any show up they would not do the remap until all faults had been fixed and next scan was clear.
