Hi all well had a look down vent on drivers side using an endoscope (very handy thing to have for about £10 from over seas)and can see the shaft broken in the usual place,,,question is can i get out the broken piece out from the motor side and do the marker pen trick as there appears to be a lug on the side of the shaft,,if you ebay heater flaps you can see the lug on the white one
not sure how to get pics on the screen!!!!
anyway im sure some will know what i mean
cheers bob
Don't think the lug will pull out from the motor side. Best to put a long wire down with some gaffer tape attached to stick onto the lug or try and hook it round it somehow or perhaps a hollow pipe with some doubled up string, ends out the top, pulling both to tighten the loop onto the shaft (your endoscope may help) and then push it in from the motor side. I tried to get mine out and lost it
does that lug have any function? because if you fish it out that way you will have to cut the lug off to get it in motor side,,, might have to cut a hole me thinks and drag the lot out shame as the pen trick looked quiet clever...
Its shaped so the motor shaft sits snugly into it but if you used the right sized marker pen and enough glue you'd probably get away without it. Bit of a 'how to' here.
Check the passenger side as well mate. Drivers side is usually most common to break as it gets more use but if previous owner had a faffy fussy missus in passenger seat then that will be on the way out as well. Mine was only cracked on other side but broke soon after.
yer my misses loves playing with the knobs lol,,,,,i wonder if you could spray some of that cockpit shine down to that area as its only a smelly silicon but might lube up the flap,,, just a thought!!
