Hello, i've bought a peugeot 207 1.4 Diesel 2009 and i've had it for a month. i've had the antipollution fault show up. it used to only come on from time to time when i start my car, quite uncommon to happen.
Anti pollution appears to happen when i'm driving now and i get a smaller jitter and my car goes into limp mode, forcing me to start and restart the engine.

My dad has a simple OBDII scanner, we plut it into the port and it doesn't show any error codes. it says 00 DRT.
is there a cheap scanner i can use to check it out or is there something i'm not doing right?

also anyone got any recommendations with the antipollution fault? i've tried going 60mph on 4th gear for 20miles and it still happens.

i am suspecting that the ECU might be faulty and causing all these issues, i've heard that ECU problems are common on Peugeot cars.
this website said that it's a common issue http://www.ecutesting.com/peugeot-207-ecu.html

i've gone on that website and it doesn't appear to list my ecu.
part numbers/codes are

RBCMMDEDC16C34CEM 00

Antipollution fault message covers a very wide range of items that may trigger the message. A lot of them will not trigger a fault code. You need to plug the car into a decent scanner that displays live readings and drive it to see what system may be going out of spec to trigger the fault. Obviously the person behind the scanner needs to actually know what they are doing.. ;)

A simple thing like almost stalling the car going around a corner can trigger this message due to a sudden richening of the exhaust gases because of too much fuel, too little rpm so the exhaust sensor has a hissy fit..

well that's kinda bad isn't it? it's causing my engine to go off, forcing me to stop and restart the engine. is there anything i can do that wouldn't cost me, so i can give it a try and see if it fixes it till i have the money to get it looked at?
