Hello guys. I've looked in the haynes manual and it says I need to lock the camshaft and the flywheel with 2 bolts/pins. In the picture it shows 2 bolts. It says 10mm and 6mm I can't remember which way round. But it dosent say what the lenght of them are to be? Does it matter? Or do I need a proper 207 timing belt pin/bolt kit? Has anyone ever done this before? It's a 1.4l petrol and it has a/c.

I just use an assortment of old bolts (or a modified junior hacksaw blade for some HDI flywheel locking) as locking pins when i do most belts.

I only use locking kits where specialist locking tools and not pins are needed

As long as the fit the gap you should be fine i think i normally use bolts around 50-75 mm long for pulleys and double that for flywheel

I had a 307 which I done the cambelt on, had no problem locking the cams off but could not locate the crank lock, so I ended up just making pen marks on the crank wheel and cams and the new belt was already marked, so just make double sure that you check these as you go and you should be fine [emoji1303]
