Hello guys. I've looked in the haynes manual and it says I need to lock the camshaft and the flywheel with 2 bolts/pins. In the picture it shows 2 bolts. It says 10mm and 6mm I can't remember which way round. But it dosent say what the lenght of them are to be? Does it matter? Or do I need a proper 207 timing belt pin/bolt kit? Has anyone ever done this before? It's a 1.4l petrol and it has a/c.
No they wont do damage as you are not actually bolting them in they just go in a blind hole with no threads just use a bolt that is long enough and a reasonably tight fit i do same as windy just grab whatever bolt looks long enough
I had a 307 which I done the cambelt on, had no problem locking the cams off but could not locate the crank lock, so I ended up just making pen marks on the crank wheel and cams and the new belt was already marked, so just make double sure that you check these as you go and you should be fine [emoji1303]
FWIW, you only need to lock the crank and camshaft on a HDi. The fuel pump isnt timed, merely delivering a more or less constant small flow of fuel at very large pressure to the common rail.
