Hi all,
My son was driving his 207 when the engine warning light came on and the temperature gauge had climbed rapidly.
He dipped the clutch and allowed car to free wheel and the temperature dropped pretty quickly.
Some time later the same day he had the same issue - anyone got any ideas please?
I'm thinking:-
The water temperature gauge has always seemed to be inaccurate, taking a long time to rise, and then occasionally dipping and rising mid journey.
I will check the first item on the list this afternoon.
Car has ~65k miles on it.
All inputs gratefully received.
Many thanks,
D

I'm thinking:-
- Blocked airways to radiator.
- Blocked waterways in the engine block - maybe drain cooling system, run a flush, and replace with new coolant?
- Dodgy water temperature sensor.
- T/stat not opening fully?
- Water pump starting to fail?
