Hi All,

I have gone back to using my 2008 peugeot 207 1.4 sport petrol model. I am used to having a diesel but I heard the 1.4 petrol models were good with fuel economy?

After using for about 2 weeks, i am noticing a rather large hole in my pocket from the fuel the car is consuming even just at normal town and motorway journeys!

is there a problem to solve this or can you get a remap to improve economy ?

30 mpg is crap, I was getting that from a discovery - is that properly calculated (brim tank, drive a couple of hundred miles, brim again to see what you've used)?

I'd say you should be getting at least 40mpg with mixed driving. At least, just so long as you're binary driving...

I've got a 2006 207 1.4 16v s which is the non vti model. I was getting low 30s mixed driving (mostly journeys less than 10-15 mins driving) I actually put a post on here about it as i was sick of the poor fuel economy, i changed petrol stations and it went up to high 30s. So try a different brand of fuel! My trip computer currently reads 38.1 mpg, if i'm careful i can get it above 40 mpg, not too bad considering its quite a heavy car.

Another possibility is you have a faulty sensor somewhere. I got a planet Peugeot diagnostic kit off eBay for £40

For what it's worth I drive a 2007 1.4 16V S non VVTI too and I'm getting just over 39mpg with a combination of motorway and town driving. I don't drive particularly carefully so suspect I could get maybe 42mpg if I eased off a bit. Supermarket fuel, mainly.

Edit: Interesting thought about the fuel from Izapugzlife - you aren't using the high octane 98 RON stuff, are you? I think the 207 is calibrated to run on 95 RON fuel; maybe different grades would cause it to do strange things?
