Hi, I have a 2006 Peugeot expert 2.0 HDI and have an unusual fault, the front drivers side brake is binding, I have had the caliper, brake hose and master cylinder all replaced and still the problem persists, strange thing is I can drive for an hour and no issue then all of a sudden it will return. needless to say it has been off the road for a week now until I can get this issue resolved , any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi we had this a few times and it might be for the same reason although on ours both fronts were binding.
What causes it is the pivot on the brake linkage behind the servo dries up and gets stiff so sometimes sticks on it got gradually worse on ours till we realised the pedal was staying down a little we just sprayed spraygrease behind the servo and it eventually sorted itself out took a few days though.
once we found it we done all the taxis then it never happened again.
Thanks reliable406, I was hoping you may comment, as I did see your advice from a previous brake issue. I will need to try this, Spray grease any recommendations on type and brand as you stated no WD40 grease ??? and just spray down the back of the servo ??? quite pokey round there I guess
How worn are your discs & when caliper was changed were the slider pins changed & greased? Simple stuff I know but sometimes overlooked
