hi newbie here, i bought my 1st peugeot, a 57 plate 207 GT Turbo cc back in September and i am LOVING it, despite being warned by a fellow 207 cc owner that she had nothing but problems with hers i have had 3 good months of driving, however yesterday i found what i hope ISN'T a major fault. knowing i should lower the roof at least once a month to keep it in full working order i decided to do this yesterday, i pressed the button and the process started, the windows went down and the boot started to open, it raised about 6 inch and then stopped and i got a roof mechanism failure message, i pressed the button to put the roof back down, this happened but the back windows didn't shut fully and the front ones not at all but the message read "roof manouver complete." has anyone had this happen to them, can you throw any light on whats gone wrong, the last time i drove the car with the roof down was late October and it was working fine then, i only got a 3 month warranty with the car so even if this covered the roof it doesn't now as it has expired. i really love this car and hope my friend wasn't right when she told me i would regret buying it as it would cost me a fortune in repairs.

ok, i don't know how to spray/grease the rubber seals on the roof, hoping hubby can help with that one, i have checked my roof fuse and done the reinitialisation of the windows, when i tried to lower the roof the boot lid came up higher than previously but then stopped again, i am sure the problem lies with my rear windows which will lower when i use the window switch but when using the roof switch the front windows lower but the back ones only come down about an inch befor they stop and i get the roof faulty message..... i have to raise them using the window switch, only had the car 4 months, spent all the money i had on it and can't afford to pay out a large sum of money to peugeot to put this right, help... please.:)

Not sure if 207 is same as 206 but if it is then there are various switches and sensors and if 1 is not getting switch correctly at the correct time the roof just stops

I bought a 206 damaged along 1 side including bootlid and it came with a clear plastic roof as they could not get roof back up :)

I messed around for a while checking things and decided to put it up manually and after that it worked fine the frame was slightly bent and 1 switch was not closed properly once unjamed it was happy again

It should be a simple fix just find someone who knows the cars

oh, do you mean i left it too long between the last time i had the top down and the next time i tried to lower it? ie: October to January?
oh i hope its going to be something so simple, thanks for the reply. got an allen key now so will try that ASAP :) x

as soon as i realised it wasn't going all the way i closed it back up, i didn't leave it half open, manually is the next thing we thought of trying, hope it works then, haven't been able to do it yet as there wasn't an allen key with the car, :(
thanks for the advice given so far, any hints or tips gratefully recieved. :)

No. Its imperitive to finish the open or close the procedure on the bong or the message on the screen. Ie let the button go after the bong not before or the system locks up. Opening and closing manually only way of resetting.

i always keep my finger on the switch till i get the message that it has completed, when it wouldn't open the other day i still had my finger on the switch when the roof stopped and i got the message saying there was a fault, i only took my finger off so that i could press it the other way to close it.

:(
3 weeks after buying the car i went in to ask where my vehicle check certificate was that i paid £90 for and the allen key was told no allen key with the
car and certificate would come to me in the post, (still hasn't) then they sat me down and tried to sell me a service and MOT plan for about £500 so if i got away with £100 i would think myself lucky.

ok, so now the wind and rain has stopped we were about to lower the roof manually but looking through the manual it only tells us how to raise it!! even searching google can only find instructions to raise it. how do i lower it. any instructions please? anyone?

Manual can be found here
INFOTEC - Service Box Peugeot

Also details manual roof procedure ... You can also google 206cc roof manual procedure on YouTube. It's pretty much the same apart from the locking the roof bit at the end. For that put Allen key up where you would usually find the manual sunroof open lever on an older car. It's under the cap above your head by the light... Put key in and turn

This is what I was told before ....

How can I manually operate the roof of my 207 cc?

Hi,

Earlier in this thread David Ireland mentioned manually operating the 207 cc roof. Can anyone tell me how to do this as I can't find any reference to it in my manual?

There was a loud knocking noise in my car which seemed to be coming from the boot, but I read a post on this site yesterday suggesting putting tape around the 'tongue' of one half of the folding roof, which fits into a slot in the other half, and that would resolve the problem. I did this and was delighted to find that the noise stopped, however, I now can't open the roof!

The mechanism starts, the windows and boot open, but then it stops and a message comes up saying something like 'the roof mechanism has stopped working'. I really need to open it so I can remove some of the tape, as I'm as pretty sure that it's causing this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Toni.

Go to INFOTEC - Service Box Peugeot
Select English in top right corner
Go to 207 and select third one
Select 2007-2008 year
Open "Practical Information"
Select "Roof Emergency Mode"

Hope this helps:thumb:

Hi Tonitiger

I'm not really sure on the exact way to do it but roughly it goes like this

Opening
Open boot with key fob. Clips either side which put it into manual mode. As shown on the youtube video above for the 206. This will allow you to hook the boot lid up to fold the roof down. You may be able to do this bit automatic and then just carry on manual for the rest.... By the interior light you can put an allen key into the hole (pull the cap out) and then turning this unlocks the roof from the frame. You can then manually fold the roof back into the boot.... The boot would already be open at that point. If you folded the boot up automatically then pressing the roof down button again might lock this in place for you. I have had this bit before where the roof wouldnt go but the rest would. The car would push the boot up and then not do the roof. I could fold the roof down and then press button again to collapse the lid and lock it in place.

Hope that is of any help to you

Confused

Thank you for replying, I really appreciate you taking the time to send me this info. However, as a single female who has no idea about mechanical stuff, I'm afraid I really don't understand... 'By the interior light you can put an allen key into the hole (pull the cap out) and then turning this unlocks the roof from the frame' or 'If the roof is too stiff to go back, then where the spare wheel would usually be is the hydraulics. The pressure needs to be released'.

I just watched a video about operating the 206b roof on Youtube but that confused me just as much if not more, and as far as I can see, there isn't a key with the 207 anyway. Still feeling rather lost I'm afraid... :(

You cannot Get to it to wind the Peugeot 207cc Roof motor with an allen key like the 206cc, It is under the spare wheel and if the roof get stuck the roof parts cover the wheel well.
To manually open or close the roof you need two people. One to sit in the car and flick the roof switch, and the other person to gently lift and handle the process all the way open whilst the other person turns the switch on.
Same process for closing it.
If the roof motor stops whilst doing it try to move a bit faster manually, or Turn the car off and wait a bit and try again.

Most common faults for the roof are blind switch, boot lock switch, motor pump failure, or motor over heating from roof pump failure.

My roof stopped opening a few months ago, it happened after I pushed the boot lid up a little bit forcefully as it kept closing on me while taking stuff out.
I spent hours searching online for a solution to no avail, the handbook is no help, as my car is a 2010 model even the emergency close procedure is not in it, as I stated previously there is no manual for the 207 cc, don't bother buying the ordinary 207 manual, there is virtually no similarity with the 207 cc.
The boot lid would only open about six inches and then stop, I knew that there were 5 solenoid switches to operate the roof only one of which was visible towards the centre of the boot lid at the back of the car. I was able to gently open the boot lid to about ten inches, this allowed me to reach the visible solenoid switch and press it see if it had been loosened when I'd pushed the lid open previously.
SUCCESS!! I must have loosened this switch when I pushed the lid open, this had then stopped the boot from opening to in turn allow the roof to open.
While I can't guarantee that this will work for you, with luck it may fix your problem. Just make sure you raise the boot lid gently and also be gentle while pressing the solenoid switch in, mine must only have been loose a fraction as it took virtually nothing to get it back in, it was such a small amount that I didn't think it could have worked.
Good luck.
