Not always the key that needs recoding as it could be a number of things including bad wiring faulty comms faulty immo ring.........

Using planet/diagbox can help diagnose and possibly fix it

Have you had any problems with battery
Have you done anything with radio
Has the car got any signs of water under carpets in footwell

Sounds like bsi has lost settings but you need to try find the reason why so you need to check for signs of water
