Default starter motor fault

Hello,
When I try to start my van (2008 2.0l 120hp)
There is nothing from the starter motor as if the battery is totally dead, but if you put it in gear and just rock the van forward an inch or two so that the engine turns just slightly it starts as normal.
It is doing this more and more often.
Any suggestions
Thanks

Default update

The starter motor isn't working at all now.
When I turn the key nothing happens at all now apart from the sound of a rely behind the dash engaging once, not the clicking noise you get with a near flat battery.
The battery is ok, and the dash lights don't dim when I turn the key.
There is power to the starter motor.
It bump starts no problem.
Please help
Thank you
