Default non starting expert hdi

Hello everyone

Was hoping someone could help me with some issues my father in law is having with his expert van hdi, when you turn the key the engines fires and runs but then just cuts out almost right away,is this an immobiliser fault? if so is there an easy fix? plus also when cranking the engine the red stop light flashes on the dash will this go out when the engine starts and runs? Any help would great as it would make me look like a great son in law if I can get it going again.
Many thanks Nigel

At a guess i'd say immobiliser or fuel pressure.
Has he got more than 1 key?
