Default Gearbox plate rusted, fluid leak.

Hello,
I have a 2007 expert 2.0 hdi with a six speed manual.
During heavy salted winter roads here in Norway, the end plate cover on the gearbox has rusted, and sprung leak. The plate is visible in the left wheel arc(left, when sitting in the car facing forward) sitting on the end of the gearbox and looks like made of steel.

Is it any problem to take of this plate, without any bearings, springs or anything popping out?

Witch oil, and how much is recommended for the -07 6 speed 2.0 Hdi tranny?

This happens quite often, its just a thin metal cover,a few bolts and off it comes. The only way to get a new one is at a Peugeot Main Dealer. I would suggest before you fit it give it a few coats of Hamerite rust proof paint or something similar.
Oil is just normal 75/80 BV gear oil.

Thanks Old Pug!!
Got the plate from the dealer, and some oil.
Never changed fluid on the gearbox on the Expert before, but recon it`s a filler plug and fill it up until it oil starts dripping out.
