Red face Expert hdi. Horn not working, MOT booked for sat !!!

Hi

So iv had an intermittent horn problem for the past couple weeks but has now died altogether. I first thought it was the stalk as the indicator was playing up also. Ordered and replaced the stalk today and .......... still not working.

Any ideas?

I can't locate the actual horn in the engine bay to perform any tests on it so that would be handy to know also.

Thanks for any help with this.

The horn on my first 307 had a horn with a very corroded mounting bracket. The bracket eventually broke and I lost the horn somewhere on the road. May be similar ?

So.. got the horn. Swapped it with my brother in laws and fitted his to mine as he has a dispatch. Works but it's hit and miss and sounds like it's under water. What else can fail between the switch and the horn?

under the airbag the horn works by earthing the return wiring the 2 pin plug at the horn has 12 volts constant at 1 side and when you press the horn it earths through the column to complete the circuit

Just reading the horn thread in the Electrical section by Bettyswollocks, would this apply to your model?
