Default 5008 into 09 expert tepee

Hi i just bought a 2009 (09) PEUGEOT EXPERT TEPEE COMFORT 1.6 HDI CAB DIRECT WHEELCHAIR ACCESS with 200k on the clock (i know its high) the cam belt has gone but have found another engine from a Peugeot 5008 1.6 HDI Engine 2010 50,000 Miles

Not ever owning a peugeot before i'm a little unsure what or how about going around to find a lump that will fit (with out to much messing about) so any help would be great so the question remains will a 5008 1.6hdi 2010 lump fit in my expert tepee 1.6 hdi 2009.

all the 1.6 hdi engines are essentially the same there will be differences but as long as it looks the same it will fit but broken cambelt can be fixed in situ as it just breaks all the rockers no need to remove the head

Thanx for info millage is high and to be honest it was rather sluggish so will prob go with another lump my engine is a DV6 so i assume any 1.6 hdi will go on my gearbox too ?

Just make sure the 5008 engine is not the newer 8v engine. I suppose the partner one is the 16v.

Thats not high mileage my sons van done 360k on its original engine and turbo and when we removed the engine it still had plenty life in it as it had been well serviced

we only removed it to fit an older engine that could run veg oil

As above there are 8 valve and 16 valve versions of the engine hence why i said if it looks the same it will fit the engine is used in peugeots citroens mazdas fords volvos etc etc so is not hard to find.

The sluggishness may not be caused by the engine/mileage but by the control systems blocked DPF worn turbo etc etc you generally dont get turbos or injectors with used engines so if your sluggishness was turbo related it would still be there after the swap

I'v bought the complete front end so wont be using any of the original parts if i can get away with it.

Made a start to taking the lump out today the wiring seems to be the hardest part to remove i hoping i can just slide the engine off the box and drag that out dont really want to be taking the drive shafts and box out aswell.

I just pull the whole engine and box out complete as many of the bolts are easier to get at once out the car as for the wiring its easier to leave that on the engine and just unplug from fusebox and ecu.

You can then get the wiring and all the bolts out once its on the floor access is much better and you can build up the complete unit prior to refitting

loom unplugs thats a new one to me so will i need to remove the fuse box to get to a plug or is it visible as i'v not seen ne but to be honest not knowing it had one i would not have been looking and thinking about it now it prob would be easier to pull it all out as one.

2 plugs in ecu and 2/3 in fusebox depending on type of wiring couple of earths and 1 main feed and the whole loom stays on the engine its designed that way for ease of assembly at factory but it helps with disassembly too

I have always done it that way.

Ok small update i have my lump out and looms have different ecu plugs so i have to use my loom (no big deal) the 2 things that bother me is

1 can i use the crankshaft censor and other electrical items that belong to the new engine or must i use my older bits (will these effect my ecu) ?

2 my lump was 90 hp the newer one is 110hp been told i will need a remap ? (thing the bloke was on drugs who told me)

This has took me days to get this lump/box out (took a day just to get the bumper and rads out) cars sure have changed since the days of mk 3/4 escorts (the last time i played with a car).
