Default 2003 Expert 2.0 HDI Limp Mode?

Hi all
I hope someone may be able to help me.
I recently had a leak on the EGR cooler hose.
After having a nightmare locating another one of these I finally found one at a breakers yard and replaced it.
Before this the van was running spot on.
Now the EML is on and the van drives absolutely fine except it will it rev very high (don’t have a rev counter).
I think it’s in limp mode.
I have tried a couple of OBD Tools but they will not connect so I think the port is broken and I am unable to read the fault code.

I’ve tried disconnecting the EGR Valve hose and block off just to see if it makes any difference but it doesn’t.
Also I’ve done same with MAF.
I’ve also checked and cleaned Air Filter and replaced fuel filter.
Can anyone offer any advice or has experienced something similar?
Thanks in advance

Is it the 8 valve or 16 valve engine as they are very different

Your port is fine its your choice of tool thats wrong only real computers will get a connection planet delphi snap on or launch will connect fine.

Without fault code/live data its hard to say you may have disturbed something during the repair that is now getting a bad connection.
