Default Oh stop this noise please

I have a witter towbar fitted and on holiday in France towing the caravan a piercing buzz from the relay in the boot which attahes to the electrics on the towbar started.

It comes on when:

a you are towing the caravan - its on all the time.

b the car is stationary and the caravan is not hitched up and you unlock the car or open a door or boot - it stays on for about 20 seconds

When its on it goes off when you take out the spade fuse near the relay - but then the lights etc on the caravan don't work when it is hitched up.

I thiought the problem might be due to the brakelight on the car not working so i changed it but same old buzz.

Is it the audible warning buzzer for the indicators? Mine sound when towing a trailer/caravan and using the indicators. If it is that it sound like it has not been wired up correctly. Take it back to where you got the towbar fitted.

Malcolm.
