Default Bulb Failure with a caravan

After having my 508 fitted with a tow bar the installers were telling me about the bulb failure warnings. If the flashers fail on one side of the trailer the electronics divert the flash signal to the side lights of the trailer on the appropriate side. This is, according to them, an EU regulation now so that at no time is the trailer without some sort of indicator. At the same time the flash rate changes as well as giving a message on the small display on the instrument panel.
If anyone is in the North Birmingham area I can recommend A Ghent of Great Wyrley who were at pains to keep me informed of issues with installation and carefully showed me how to detach and attach the detachable tow ball insisting on my doing it both on the demonstration unit as well as the car while at their unit.
