Default Backup sensors on a 2005 307cc

Evening all.
I'm looking into fitting some reversing sensors to my 307cc.
The mounting location for the sensors is pretty obvious but I'm wondering about the wiring. Back in the day, one would simply connect the controller to the reversing lights and it's done. These days, with CAN bus, current sensing, etc. it may not be so easy.
The kit I'm looking at hints about using a relay to power it, presumably triggering the relay from the reversing light and getting power from the bus. Claimed power is 3.6W, or 300mA. Will that be enough to upset the monitoring, considering it has (presumably) 2x21W bulbs in there. It's less than 10% more power.

So, is a direct connection or will I need to use a relay?
