Default Side door not locked with central locking

Hi, I have just bought a 2003 campervan based on a Boxer 2.2L body which I'm very pleased with. I cannot get the sliding door to lock using the central locking remote. I thought there may be a sensor on the door frame but all I could see is a push button in the middle of the door post which I unscrewed and which seems to be intact as far as wiring goes. I can of course manually lock the door with the key but that is a bit of a pain. Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this problem. Thanks

Not having any personal experience the only thing I can think of is that one of the micro switches in the locking mech is faulty and permanently showing the door as closed & locked. It may be possible to see the state of the door using PP2000 diagnostics which would identify an issue with the lock mech. Try finding a member with the diagnostics kit near you and arrange to meet up for a quick check. Will only cost a few beer tokens and you get the benefit of checking everything else.

Thanks for your reply storeman I'll follow your advise and try and contact a local member with the diagnostic kit.

Went over to see Rob (eccles) and we have now got it sorted. The contacts were bent out of shape and not touching the sensors.
