Default Service Light Reset

Hi All,

I have a Boxer3, 2012,3.0l HDi.

I have seen a lot of stuff on the internet about resetting the service light, most of which didn't work with my vehicle.

Since it is out of warranty I wish to service it myself, that way I know it had been done properly, as the last garage service obviously wasn't (been servicing vehicles for decades so perfectly capable)

Question is how do I rest the service light etc, can it be done without a diagnostic tool. I have an OBD2 reader, can it be done with that.

If not what kit will I need, and where to get it from.

Many Thanks.

Switch ignition off.

Press and hold the trip reset button.

Switch ignition on.

Hold the trip reset button for 10 seconds.

Display should change and the spanner symbol should go out.

Failing that, you can do it with PP2000, Diagbox and other decent diagnostic interfaces
