Default Identify suspension part '98 Boxer

Hi,

Front suspension on a '98 Boxer. There is a spring seat at the top of the road spring.

I have referred to Peugeot Service Box and there are 2 parts listed.

5031-40 Except Piste
5031-45 Piste

I am guessing that Piste is a model. Yes/No ?

Any thoughts or comments please.

Piste may be the pickup or flat bed version but im only guessing

Piste means trail or track in French but they tend to use words which mean 1 thing to mean another just like we do !!

Try service box using your VIN this should make sure it only displays parts for your vehicle not the range in general, so it should only show one spring seat

Hi...yes that IS with my VIN number entered. This is a Boxer based motorhome.
Service Box does identify the model as
"BOXER MEDIUM STRIPPED CHASSIS TYPE 14 2.5 D (DJ5T) Manual gearbox 5"
but when I go to the spring part of the suspension it gives 'Piste' options as described above. If I then go to the lower part of the front suspension then there are 4 options depending on whether I have ABS (I don't) and whether I have rear discs or drums (I have drums).
So it does look as if the VIN and Service Box does not pin it down too tightly as to what was actually on the build.

Thanks
