Default Flashing Oil Light

Hi, I have a 2012 Peugeot Boxer 440, 3.0L HDi.

Just yesterday the oil light started flashing, now I know it means the oils has become degraded in some fashion, but was only serviced about 2000 miles ago, so I am assuming they used cheap oil.

Question is I have tried to reset it using the methods I found on the internet. I.e. Foot on the accelerator and brake ignition on and off etc, nothing works.

Do I have to replace the oil and filter FIRST, then do the reset. I know itís not a major problem but I donít like the flashing lights telling me there is something not quite right.

Thanks in advance.

Drain oil and replace filter, ensure the engine is filled to the correct level and that oil has circulated through, top up again if necessary (taking care not to over fill) and then reset the light.

Thanks for the reply, thought I had to change the oil first.

Is there a known reset procedure for the 2012 Boxer, or can I use my code reader to reset it.
