Unhappy Engine over revving

hi all started my van today, and it is over revving in neutral, revs r very high, anyone any idea what this is its an 06 peugeot boxer. driving perfectly 2 days ago

sticking throttle position sensor ??

A diagnostic may reveal useful info.

Diesel ?

Worn engine/turbo allowing oil into the intake and allowing engine to run without fuel ?

Though that tends to rev to death and you can't turn it off.

Idle speed control valve if it has one is stuck open .
